Photography Equipment
What to Pack
A very important piece of professional digital photography equipment is digital photography software.
Software
After determining what type of camera gear you will use, choose your lenses, photo-editing software or photo lab equipment and other photography supplies.
Digitally enhance your photos with photo-editing software. Create a multitude of image enhancements such as removing a person from a photo or adding trees to a background with photo-editing software. You can download GIMP, a free photo-enhancing software, which is similar to Adobe Photoshop.
Lens
As you build your photography equipment set, consider purchasing a variety of lenses. Because most popular companies make single-lens reflex (SLR) systems for lenses, they are interchangeable with most film cameras. Add extra visual excitement to your portraits, scenics and more with the extreme perspective of wide-angle lenses.
Tripod
The first thing you need when you build your set of photography equipment is a tripod. Tripods are mandatory to reduce/eliminate camera shake. Tripods are not expensive, depending on the model that is purchased, and will result in more professional looking photographs. Use a tripod for the longer shots, especially in lower light.
If you are not using a tripod, avoid hand shooting any pictures with an exposure time greater than 1/45th of a second. Just remember, you don't have to be a professional photographer to use a tripod. And the most important photography equipment is the photographer's mind.
